"In every generation there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer..."

Buffy Anne Summers(Sarah Michelle Gellar) was a normal, everyday girl whose biggest problem probably was picking out what to wear the next day. But all that changed when she was approached by a man one day and told that she was The Chosen One.

Ever since, she has gone out almost every night to defend the world against the forces of darkness that threatens it. In fact, she was expelled from her old school where she lived in Los Angeles for burning down the school gym. What they didn't know of course, was that it was vampire infested.

During that time, her parents were in the process of divorce so her mother, who didn't know about her daughter's calling, chose to move away and start again. Buffy saw this as an opportunity to forget about her calling. Of course, the town chosen, called Sunnydale, was right on top of "La Boca Del Infierno," as the Spanish called it, or The Hellmouth.

Here, she met her new Watcher, Rupert Giles(Anthony Head Stewart), and her new friends, Willow Rosenburg(Alyson Hannigan) and Xander Harris(Nicholas Brendon). Here, she also met Angel(David Boreanaz), the vampire cursed with a soul, with whom she ultimately fell in love with.

After having to send him to Hell(see Angel), and kicked out of the house by her own mother(see Joyce), she ran away back L.A. and worked at a local restaurant under the name "Anne," which is her middle name. She came back, got together with Angel and broke up various times. Angel finally decided to leave her and go to L.A. to redeem himself.

Buffy has defeated Moloch, the Master, the Judge, and Acathla, among many others. She has gone up against Spike and the evil Angelus and has survived.
